Yes it does seem interesting that the greatest problems America has faced in recent years have come from former "Allies" during the cold war era. We used them to get the dirty jobs done and cut them loose when they were no longer needed...

I guess this proves that the Enemy of your enemy is not your Friend after all.

The problem was that bin laden and his network had raised so many men that when the US cut them loose they had nowhere to go, so they started to target the US and western interests

oh they had somewhere to go alright, Afghanistan. The same place we used them in, and drove them out of the capital of a couple of years back.

The problems came about because we did nothing to help sort out Afghanistan after the Soviets were driven out, and after that they then started fighting their bloody little civil wars.

We left it to grow into the lawless, terrorist haven it became for many years.

As bin Laden hiself has said already all the US have to do is get the hell out of the Middle East and change it's foreign policy with Israel. Then he'll stop humiliating them over and over again to the rest of the world.

Yes the US does deserve an attack. I think it would have been better if he had just attacked the Whitehouse, the Pentagon, and the CIA headquarters. That outta send a good message. We wouldn't have that retard as the most powerful person on earth. I think it was a mistake to kill innocents, then again it's hard to not to seeing as they used civilian planes.

You are right though, the US does deserve terrorism, just not on the civilian level(except they are KKK members or Republican's, lol).

No one deserves any crime against them. But if you think about all the cirmes against humanity the US has commited then I wouldn't say they don't deserve a little backlash.

Contrary to popular belief Islamic foundamentalist terrorism is no different than the state terrorism of Israel. In fact terrorism started out as state terror. If you think about it the US government is no better then the terrorists it's trying to kill off (lol). Just because you're from the West and they are from the Middle East doesn't make your loss of life any heavier than theirs.

So far around 1,100 american soldiers have died in Iraq... so far something like 100,000 Iraqis (almost entirely civilian) have died. How many people died in sept. 11? 3,000. Who lost more?

Oh and this not to mention the 3,000,000 Vietnamese that they wiped of the face of the Earth. That's not war, It's genocide.
