I am a new in Total War world and a question in mind that what happened when Total War appeared with shogun total war . I think it was a big different looking to the stratigic games among all players .

When Shogun first hit it was quite unique and immediately appealed to a lot of gamers who had been hoping for just that type of game - a strategy game with a great 3D battle resolution AND a cool multiplayer.

before that RTS's were just constant C&C clones, it was different, i was hooked after just the demo.

Yep exactly, it was totallydifferent to what was before, it literally was groundbreaking new stuff, on par with any of the half life series.Originally Posted by LittleGrizzly

GARCIN: I "dreamt," you say. It was no dream. When I chose the hardest path, I made my choice deliberately. A man is what he wills himself to be.
INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

Man, STW was just the greatest game I ever loaded on my PC. I'm hoping CA will redo Shogun in the RTW engine, but not put too many retarded comercialized units in it.

May I then add a shameless plug for the Sengoku Jidai modification?![]()
That's true, and the fact that you weren't playing semi-scripted battles helped. There was Shadow of the Horned Rat before Dark Omen, but I never played that, so no idea if it was the same type.Originally Posted by LittleGrizzly

I remember when I first saw the trailer for Shogun Total War, my jaw almost literally hit the floor. From that first moment, I knew in my gut that strategy gaming was about to change forever.....

And look at it now?
Are there a million clones to contend with..... Not to my knowledge.
Oh well at least the longtime fans can still find joy in this great series. And late at night when everyone is asleep and your computer is defragmenting you can watch Decisive Battles, just so you can look at the pretty Persians get slaughtered at Thermopylae.
I swear the Spartans won..... (Strategically)
