Default Is this cheesy? Or just plain Dirty!

    Warning Cheesy tactic/exploit

OK the A.I. is over aggressive and does anything to target your general. I'm tired of going in the backfield to get archers/skirmishers, only to have their whole line peel away from melee without too many losses to chase my general.

So I have been leading my general in front of a forward crescent or if on defense, having his back turned to the enemy. Even when it is a regular unit the A.I. ca'nt resist the backside...... especially those spartans. Anyways the A.I goes chasing my general only to get enveloped in a pocket. Of course if theres too many archers or fast cavalry I do'nt do this.

If the crescent is'nt safe the other tactic is to have most/all of the A.I. units engage as I'm running my general behind there lines they start pulling away to get my general. Meanwhile I pull a unit of infantry back this creates a whole and because they are charging my general they have there backs turned and are in loose order. Always start from the left flank that way your general is safe because they have your whole bodyguard to go through. Then with there backs turned and in loose order, bring your cavalry through the gap you made. Even if they snag your generals unit they will be routed quickly.

Yea yea yea cheesy tactics but the mother of all cheese is the A.I. peeling away units to chase your general and it's not 1 unit it's some kind of proximity that triigers it. I do'nt care about unengaged units aggresively attacking my general.
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.

oaty, I don't think it was cheesy the first or (maybe) second time you did this. You weren't 100% sure the AI would fall for the tactic. However, if it works all the time, then it becomes cheesy, since the AI can't learn from its mistakes.

I'll give you a gold star for ingenuity though.
