If a British generals chariot or a heavy chariot begin chasing routers off the field do they actually kill them in 1.2 or just knock them to the ground like in 1.1?

Started a Briton campaign last night and yes, chariots are now much more effective at running down routing soldiers. Gone are the annoying swirling and weaving patterns when they would overshoot, knock down and/or miss a few routing men. With the 1.2 patch chariots have become death on wheels to cowards and the like, Mad Max would be proud.Originally Posted by unseen11

Ive noticed a good improvement of Chariots (British)
Or maybe I just play them better?
Nah I can actually chase down routing units better now.

Wasn't it stated somewhere in the readme for the patch that general chariot units had their hps fixed so that they didn't die on contact? I was playing as the British the other night and charged my general (huge unit size, around 100 men in the general's unit) into some barbarian peasants (NOTE: these were NOT the 3gold chevron superpeasants resulting from a revolt). Well, needless to say, my general died within seconds of impact. The uses of melee chariots in my opinion, are still quite few. I mean, peasant rabble should not even stand up to a chariot charge, much less annihilate my general and his unit while suffering only around 20 casualties themselves. SO, now I only use them as Spino says. They are much better at killing cowards, but you still can't use them for any other combat purpose.
I had that problem previously - But now they are an important part (tho I dont use loads of them) of my British armies.
I send them in the flanks of the enemy about 5 seconds before I send my inf in. I also keep them in a medium deep formation - not the thin formation they deploy on.
As soon as they hit the enemy I draw them out again - leaving much chaos and unformed ranks in the enemy - who usually then rout as my inf and/or cav charge in.
If they dont rout then now that they are engaed with my main battle line - I re-send the chariots in from behind - immediate rout - minimal losses. Its only if I leave the chariots in melee do I get huge losses (except ve cav - they do well in melee with them).
