Multiple Installations of RTW

When I try to do a duplicate full install(to a new different directory) all I get when I execute setup on disc 1 is uninstall option.

Surely there is a simple way to install another full install of RTW(I'm playing 5.0 rtr with patch 1.1 but want to see 1.2 vanilla).

Sorry if the answer is obvious but I can't find an answer with search forums.

go into program files/ activision. then right click and drag the rome total war folder over to the right a bit, release right mouse button and select copy here. this will create a carbon copy of vanilla rome for you to mod. once the copying has finished make sure you rename the new file to something like Rome - Total Realism etc.

Just to put it on record here for others.

I had RTR 5.0 with RTW 1.1 installed.

-renamed this directory from actavision/etc..
-ran uninstaller from disc1 , this did NOT uninstall my renamed directory version (though it says its removing files it isn't). But it allowed me to then do a clean new install from discs.

-ran patch 1.2 on clean new install
-copied this new installation to another new directory(ie.have new whole copies now)
-ran RTR ver 5.0(5.1 has prim/sec bug fix not needed with patch 1.2)
- copied my last quicksav file from my old installation and viola now playing RTR 5.0 with RTW 1.2 with apparently no problems!


So now have -
-vanilla RTW 1.2 in default directory(actavision/etc)
-RTR 5.0 with RTW1.2 in a new directory
-RTR 5.0 with RTW1.1 in a new directory

I guess I'll nuke the last directory soon.
