I've had similar problems playing the SuperMod. I have no fix suggestions however, apart from upgrading your PC :-)

My guess is that it is caused by the fact that the SuperMod is also "super" in size. When playing it, the load times for both campaign and battles are much bigger than vanilla MTW, and I guess that the resource demand on the system is also higher. This can possibly expose programming weaknesses in the basic MTW engine, which does not surface under "normal" circumstances, especially on not-so-new PCs (my PC is a ADM Duron 1.2GHz, 256 MB RAM),

But as stated, it's just a guess.

I'm currently playing MTW XL2, which does appear a bit more stable for me, but it is also a smaller add-on.

Mikkelle my computer was really quite old as well, so I've no idea why you guys are having these problems. Can anyone whose had the mod for a while affirm this?

Well, just as I had stated that XL worked better for me, my XL game did the CTD! Playing the Novgorods, I was attacked by the Danish by 4000+ men (i had ~2500). That scenario repeatedly crashed the game when loading up the battle-screen. I finally had to choose an alternative course of action, that is, I retreated to my stronghold instead of trying to command in person, and then I attacked in the next turn. That worked (i.e. the game did not CTD and I won :-) ).

Clearly from what I played your SuperMod 2.0 is better. So I uninstalled and reintalled everything, and Im re-DLing your Mod, I hope this works. I do have a question, what is this mean?

YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE PERIOD'S DEADPAGE COORDS TO WORK AT A TIME. BEFORE YOU START THE GAME, GO INTO 'TEXTURES/MEN', AND WHATEVER PERIOD YOU WANT TO USE MAKE SURE ITS CALLED JUST 'DEADPAGE COORDS'. WHILST NOT IN USE, MAKE SURE THAT THE OTHER TWO PERIODS ARE FRONTED BY THEIR FIRST NAME FOR EASE, LIKE I HAVE DONE WITH HIGH AND LATE.

I dont understand what you mean by this, what do I have to do, this may be my problem from before. Thanks again for ALL of your help!

Nah that won't crash the game. As I have different units in each period, I need 3 different deadpage coords. Trouble is, only one can be active at once. This is why you have to go into the 'Textures/Men' folder before you start the game and change them as I said. You just worry about trying to get it to work first.

I have heard some rumours that a Nvidia card causes more crashes than an ATI card when playing MTW. As most of the crashes seem to be happening when going into battle, its certainly a possibility, now I am no techie or anything but this is what I suspect may be the case. I am running an ATI card on a fairly high end machine and although I do not have BKB's latest version of his mod, I have the previous one (super Late) and I have only come across the very occasional CTD. Although if BKB is running a Nvidia card then that theory goes out the window.
There are things you can do in game to make it a bit more stable (and this goes for all versions/mods) like turning off autosave and only quicksaving at the start of the turn (I know its annoying, but it must be done!)

Failing that, there are always the more generic problem fixers, such as uninstalling MTW, running a disk defrag and then reinstalling over the top. This will result in better performance for all games, the difference is really noticeable for high end fps such as Doom 3/HL2 and it may fix some of your problems, especialy if you haven't done it for a while. You can also try downloading the latest video drivers for your card. If you have already tried these, then well I don't know

I havnt DLed the new video drivers yet, they may be why, BUT my game doesnt really crash during battles, its during the campaign map. I dunno, but I will try DLing the new drivers.
