You have an S3 Savage video card. Definitely not the best to have.

Do you have DirectX 9 installed?

Do a test to see if it works properly with your video card.

Here is some info from another website from a person with similar problems as you (I cannot vouch as to whether this info is correct or not):

    : : : I need a new driver for S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC 1179 , it cannot support directx 9.
    : : Card name: S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC 1179
    : : Manufacturer: S3 Graphics, Inc.
    : : Chip type: S3 SuperSavage/IX
    : : DAC type: S3 SDAC
    : : Display Memory: 16.0 MB
    : : Driver Name: S3SSav.dll
    : : Driver Version: 6.13.0010.1266 (English)
    : : DDI Version: 7
: : Display Tab 1: Hardware-accelerated Direct3D 9 is not available because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer. DirectDraw test results: All tests were successful. Direct3D 7 test results: All tests were successful. Direct3D 8 test results: All tests were successful. Direct3D 9 test results: Display driver does not support API (DDI version too low)
: : D3D9 Test Result: Display driver does not support API (DDI version too low)

    :
: i'm not sure if this is the true update but it removes the directx problem:

The website has the correct driver from S3 website. You have to select the driver which does not have the 1179 in its name. If u do it, it works fine and passes the test.
