allright protectorates are overpowered. i have 3 protectorates and they alone are good for 100 million denarii a turn. when you have one they pay like 2500 denarii. this is very weird

How do you get protectorates?
Whenever I try they always say no, even though they have 1 city left, and I have my armies surrounding it.
It was not theirs to reason why,
It was not theirs to make reply,
It was theirs but to do or die.

-Inscription on the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior
offer them a tribute, then after that they pay it back. or you cancel the tribute after they accepted. then pay them 100 denarii or wait a turn for further negotiating.
ps after the first protectorate gaul, who i eliminated later, i became extremely rich. i'm am now at 1.4 billion denarii wich is the limit. at finances they say my treasure for next year shall be .15 billion denarii but it will never happen.

holy crap
even in MTW when I strung boats ringing the entire Mediterranean I didn't get near that amount. Insane. I remember the same kind of income being given to your protectorates from some strange place.... I guess this now occurs the other way around.
I mean I don't think that there's even 1.4B in the game's economy unless you played for a loooooong itme.
robotica erotica
well if you get 100 million a turn you have 1.4 billion in 14 turns so it goes pretty fast
We do not sow.
You sure you don't mean 100,000?
Havin a protectorate basically means gettin the income that that faction after the maintanence fees. This way you are getting a better deal with protactorates say in Egypt when u are based in Italy, because you dont get the capital distance penalty.
Why cant we just get along???
wow i'd love to get a billion denari! i play as the julii and thier economy in the beginning is crap. what year is your game at?
ps: just for all you weird fact freaks an american billion is 1'000'000'000 while a british billion is 1'000'000'000'000 ( a million million)
i know that, i'm talking about 1.400.000.000 denarii. a american billion.

To post an image here, you have to first upload it to some place that allows remote linking of images (like Photobucket). Then link to it from here by using [img] tags. So, for instance, [img]https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v478/Simetrical/Dacia.jpg[/img] (minus the bolding, which I needed to do so it wouldn't turn into a picture) gives you
Or, you could e-mail it to someone interested, and they can upload it for you. I'll do it if you want.

to get a protectorate (vh,m) playing as julii. post 1.2 patch
the green romans were slapping the dacians around left and right and i was only obligatorily at war with them, i never actually fought the dacians. they send a diplomat my way and i ask them to become a protectorate and they say yes without any bartering. they have 5 provinces, and a strong military. i have about 7 provinces. so i figure, they agree because are not at war, and they are being beaten by another power.
later in the game i had beaten the brits down to 2 provinces, destroy basically all thier armies and was beseiging one of their 2 cities left. for them to agree to become my protectorate [senate mission], i had to give them back 4 provinces and 15,000 gold. i have about 30,000 in the bank left at this time. the next turn, i get a 100,000 boost to my treasure. but i check the financial graphs and neither the britons or the senate had money of that magnitude to be able to give as a gift to me. i just got a spike of 100,000 for no good reason. i check the financial graph a bit further, and the senate had about 15 turns back also gotten about a 100,000 spike, [which they quickly spent] that was way out of proportion to what everybody else was making. and they didn't have a protectorate. so there are definitely some screwy things going on.
indeed
well i got 100 million from 3 countries, sow each had to come up with 33 million a turn. that's impassible
