    Default Playing tips

I haven't really seen a thread dedicated to the little things. So I figured I'd try starting one, and hopefully people will add stuff that I probably don't know exists.

    For example:

When in battle mode, if you pause the fight, you can double-click on the card of a unit, and it takes you to that unit like normal. However, if you double click on the unit itself, it pops up a stats screen. This works for enemy units as well. It's a good way to check the stats of units you are fighting to see whether they've got weapon/valour upgrades or are vanilla versions.

Misdirection as a strategy tool on campaign map

Ok you're under the hammer several armies converging on your one army (or city)and you need time!. ( for whatever)

Send a few ordinary troops into the path of the armies or suicide attack their cities near these armies(peasants are ideal , cheap and expendable). The ai will usually target the weakest armys/targets and you can get on with using your real army where you want it(like taking that city you want).

For example I'm attacking Capua(romans) (RTR 5.0 RTW 1.2) as Gaul and the Romans are really dead meat but SPQR have ~8 legions of Praetorians(9experience and gold everthing) to contend with unless I can distract them by misdirection. So I send one lot of peasants to attack near Rome and the SPQR ai takes the bait annihilates the peasants but doesn't come to the rescue of the Romans. I take Capua. ! while Spqr have their little victory over my peasants.
