need a bit more info than just your operating system. like what speed processor, what graphics card you have etc.

Operating System has no matter on how games run, only compatibility problems but I believe totalwars series runs with Windows 98 onwards anyhow. As for Operating system your fine but need more information, well all information about specs on your computer for me or anyone else to get back to you on this topic.

Celeron 1.1G passes the test. You also need to have a DX9 compatible video card. I don't know how you can look it up under 2000 (never used). If only it was XP...

Your system specs should be fine for running the game with the graphics turned down a tad, it all depends on what gfx card you have, if any. Can you get any info on that? Go into control panel, click on system, then on device manager, and get your gfx card info from there.

Easier way to find all ya info on RAM and processor etc is right click on my computer and system information should come up.
As for drivers on graphics card either go to dxdiag or right click anywhere on desktop then go to properties then at top tabs go to settings then advanced and then look through the numerous tabs there for all information on graphics card.

    Hope that helps.

    Here's HP's product spec's for your model:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...dlc=en&lang=en

Under video it lists: integrated in chipset, no AGP slot (funny it doesn't give a MB value, Cracked Axe gave good advice to find that)

if it (the vid device) is less than 64MB, your machine might have some trouble fully displaying R:TW. However, I see that you have 3 PCI slots, so all is not lost - a separate video card can be purchased (and installed quite easily, by you), to upgrade your machine to the more robust video requirements of current games.

    Display Memory: 32.0 MB

Ahh, that's what we were looking for. 32 megs might have a little trouble showing all the textures of the game, but it would still be playable, with game-graphics turned low.

Both ATi and nVidia make some reasonably priced PCI-slot video cards that would likely suit your machine, and give you 128 MB display memory (or better).

These guys are pretty reliable in customer service. (This is not an official endorsement; the .Org has no ties to any manufacturer or vendor). Note that the 256MB cards cost up to $400, where the 128MB cards - which will serve you quite well), are under $100.

Or type in "128MB video card" in our Goggle box above, click "WWW", then enter; that will give you many vendors to choose from.

    Cool.

    Just remember:
    NOT AGP
NOT PCI-Express (those won't work in your machine).

    YES = PCI

There is a Predator Mx4000 Plus on sale at CompUsa for $39.99 (PCI too, and 128 MB, after $20 mail-in-rebate) on the Sunday newspaper:

yes, there is a chance you could play using the integrated vid card... but not much of one. those are the cheapest, worst, type of video cards available. they are made for one purpose only... to sell computers cheaply. and it really is a case here of, you get what you pay for. i've used integrated before myself and i've seen a number of folks in the apothecary who've come in looking for help and in every case, these integrated things are a problem. the ONLY good thing to be said for them is that they can be bypassed with another plug-in video card. in your case, since you have no agp (advanced graphics processor (just a newer type of video card)) slot, you're forced to go buy a pci type (an older type of video card). thankfully, these still work. they arent as fast as the agp type, but they shld work, depending on what type you get.

i'd recommend anything from nvidia starting at a gf4 mx 400 up to a 7500 nvidia. and yes, Staples does sell these. i've seen nvidia pci 7500's at Staples before.... recently. just make sure you get a pci and not an agp, as others have already mentioned.

what will most likely happen if you try using the integrated card is that you'll have 'freezes' in the game where the entire computer will just lock up. so, you'll be back here asking how to fix this and someone will tell you to update your drivers for the card. you'll update the drivers and then have other problems, like black screens or the cut scenes or intro wont play or jagged lines across the monitor or some other woe such as this.

now, saying all that, i'd still recommend you try the integrated. maybe it will work just fine and you're likely not going to fry the computer or anything in trying. but most likely it's not going to work very well.

Probably the best card you can get since you lack an AGP slot would be a PCI based Nvidia FX5200. Unfortunately, with PCI slots only there is not anything better available.
