Need Help with Historical Battles/Campaigns

I need help! I can't seem to beat some of the battles of the historical battles/campaigns. There's actually a specific battle I can't beat, but since I haven't found any good likes for historical battle tips, I figured I'd leave the door open for all kinds of tips here. Anyways, could someone please help me in beating the second battle in the Joan of Arc campaign. I believe it's the Loraine battle, where you got 5 cannons and you're laying siege to the castle. It seems like everytime I bring the walls down and send my troops in I get my ass handed to me. The other generals damn calvary takes down every troop I sent to it, and I actually saw a group of ONE knight single-handedly delay 3 groups of soldiers at the entrance to the castle. Anyways, I lost track of how manys times I've played that battle, so could someone give me some pointers or a walkthrough for that battle? Thanks!

That battle is a nightmare ive beaten the army inside god knows how i did it but i lost because i didnt have the 100 men or whatever required left to win which is the most annoying thing imaginable!
