    Default Skinning Problem

I just implemented webbird's skins from over at the twc. They look very nice but whenever I zoom out just a bit they revert back to the original skins. It's a bit silly looking and I'm not sure what to do about it.
I know it has something to do with cas files and camera range, but I don't know the first thing about cas files and was wondering if anyone here could put it in laymen's terms for me.

It's not the cas files, it's the sprites. The only thing you can do is comment out the sprite models in the descr_model_battle.txt file. Then the textures will always be used.

One caveat - some say that commenting out the sprites cause the units to be "invisible" at long ranges. I have never experienced this, so I think it might be something to do with lower end computers/settings.

Anyway, to comment the sprites out nice and fast, open the descr_model_battle.txt file, select Edit>Replace, then put "model_sprite" in the find box and ";model_sprite" in the replace with box and click replace all. Save it and you are in business.

Make sure you backup the file before modding it.

Ah, fantastic! Thank you for correcting me, too. I'm off to give this a shot.
