Default In praise of the fixed phalanx behaviour

I'd just like to put forward some ups to CA for how the phalanx formation has been fixed.

    Its great.

They even do the 'drive inexorably forward into the enemy' bit!

Yes, I think that the developers get to much stick for the things that go wrong and not enough praise for things which now work correctly. For me the phalanx bug was the largest single issue pre-patch and the game is infinately better now its been fixed.

    What?

At the last minute, individual units in AI phalanx line made a 30-degree turn before contact and got torn apart by my spears. I think this happens quite often because they seem to individually select their targets without regard to their disadvantage in making abrupt turns or breaking formation.

Once, I saw a phalanx unit sprint across one end to another right before contact, and it got sandwiched between the two opposing lines. What was it trying to do? Maybe it was trying to flank me by going the wrong direction or something? I have not a clue.

The AI phalanx units are the easiest to beat because they break formation all the time and individually go on a goose chase all over the map. Then these slow moving units become easy picking for my cavalry.

My patch won't install. I installed in once but I had the RTR so re-installed and it wouldn't work no matter what i did. I fixed the directory and everything but still I get the error message. I don't' get it. What am I supposed to do ?@??!?!
