i have played several campaigns and tried all the key's but it just doesn't work.

I always use the little wheel on my mouse. Don't know what key u have to use...

Do you mean move into a city - you nweed to be in the city information scroll that shows you how things like squalor level - in the bottom left corner theres an icon to click that zooms into to the city.

Incidentally - i thought we were suppoed to be able to see gladiatorial contests in the arenas qwhen we did this - i never have - have i just missed it?

Well CA said we'd be able to see gladiators in the arena & chariot races in the circus but I think its clear that they never implemented/completed it.
I think we were supposed to be able to zoom in & see armies on the march too.
Things I'd like to see in the expansion/1.3 patch #s 56,57 & 58...
Re the original post, assuming this is starting within a battle, either use the mouse wheel or if (presumably) you don't have one of those, the / and * keys at the top of the number pad do it.
Or do you mean the rarely mentioned quick zoom?
I believe that is the Insert key.
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
Pressing the End key will zoom you to the currently selected unit.
I also usually use the mouse wheel for manually zooming in - invaluable imho

You are so right!! I'd prefer if game developers only promised what was completed. Just about every new game nowadays have some misleading 'facts'. If the miracle happens for those things to be included in the next patch (whenever the hell that'll be), then I say![]()
