Thread: Ignoring The Senate

    Default Ignoring The Senate

I would love to play as one of the Roman factions because, well, that was what the game was made for. But I would like to play it more on my own schedule than on the schedule of the Senate. So, my question to you is, what would happen if I chose just to ignore the Senate? And is there a current mod that would just make the Senate shut up? Thanks.

You will lose your popularity among the Peoples of Rome. If you look at the Senate Floor tab, you can track your popularity there.

Just do the missions by the final turn to minimize how much you do. For example, if the Senate asks you to blockade a port in 5 turns, blockade it in the last turn.

However, when taking provinces, don't delay.

if you keep ignoring the senate they will eventually outlaw you and the other roman factions will become hostile towards you.

I found you could ignore the senate quite a bit before they finally outlawed you. Just have to do the odd mission every now and then to keep them somewhat pleased. And since their missions often overlap on your own plans, it really isn't a problem.

What's wrong with being outlawed? Hey, maybe it would make things more interesting.

In my current campaign I seem to be expanding with consummate ease to the East while my poorly defended Italian territories back home are ripe for the taking. The other Roman factions have got a frightening number of full stacks floating around.

Maybe getting outlawed is just what I need to provide some extra challenge...
