i bought a copy of RTW today from eb games and it did not ask me where to type it in. what is the problem? and by the way i cant play battles either and my computer fits all the requirements.

I assume your talking about the cd key.
You do not need it for single player only multi.
Not sure what's up with your battles. Have you played the intro campaign yet?

Yes. You must play through the tutorial in order to play the game. I just modded it out.

if you want to play multiplayer, make sure you put the - in the cd key number or else it isn't valid

You don't need to play the prologue (intro campaign), but if you have no experience of this type of game it may help you.

If you want to skip it, and get started on a full campaign, or either a custom or historical battle, then just start the prologue, hit the esc key, and on the scroll that comes up, chose to exit the game. Now when you get to the main menu, you will be able to chose what type of campaign or battle you want.
