    Default hardcoded warcry...

warcry is hardcoded for all barbarian infantry units, but I really need to get rid of it somehow, or it will ruin all the balance in my mod... I tried giving the units wedge formation (doesnt work) and phalanx formation (automatically gives them pikes, so not usefull). There are other options such as giving them ranged weapons or chanting ability, but that ruins balance just as much.

Anyone has a good solution to this ?

ok I already found an acceptable solution: giving infantry the cantabrian circle ability. The button even shows up (wedge formation doesnt) and can be turned on, and luckily it the game doesnt crash or make the infantry do weird things.

Thanks for your help everyone ;)

Yes, warcry is odd. If you hire merc barbarians, but aren't a merc culture, they can't war cry. Yet if you hire non-barbarian mercs, and are barbarians, then at least some of them can war cry. What we really need is a "flaming war cry" ability...
    Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.
