    Default Nexus:jupiter incident

    anyone played it?

The graphics look awsome, anyone have any info on how it plays?

I picked up IG2 ages back and that was ok, until you got to the point where one race developed some lightning attack that wiped out all your ships...

I played it and enjoyed it very much. I can tell you that there is no strategy whatsoever in the game (linear missions all the way) and that the tactics are quite rudimentary.

But, aside of that, which must not be a negative part of the game, Nexus has displayed the toughest, most beautiful and most appealing space combat scenes I ever saw anywhere, Homeworld included. The laser, phaser and other *aser beams cut through space with a movie quality, shields glow on impacts, sounds are formidable and put you right in the middle of it, when you zoom to your ship closely, the entire screen starts shaking if you get close to the engines running high, giving you the impression of their strength and ships actual speed. The explosions are mini supernovas, finest ever seen. 3D view and controls are easy, smooth and efficient.

All around, I would recommend this game for its beauty alone. Too bad it wasn’t a part of a great space strategy game, I would have fallen in love for the first time in a long time since TW.

Yes the strategy was indeed limited (to the point where if you did not have the exact loadout needed you cannot win.) Another aspect is that there are stretches in the game where spend more time watching it than atually playing it. The game is still amazing, it just lacked that certain depth that really could have made it shine.
Nothing close to pity moved inside me. I was sliding over some edge within myself. I was going to rip open his skin with my bare hands, claw past his ribs and tear out his liver and then I was going to eat it, gorging myself on his blood.
