SWAT 4 SP Demo available

I've been playing this and I think it is great. There have been some aspects which had to be removed, but I've read that most everything from SWAT 3 was included in the game.

The worst thing that had to be removed due to time constraints is that compliance is permanent; perps won't run for it if you leave them alone after they've given up. Hopefully, the game will have 2 expansions like SWAT 3 and this will be added in. I didn't even play SWAT 3 and I miss this feature.

Besides that, everything works good and it feels realistic. I'm interested in what SWAT 3 veterans Navaros and TSM think of it, especially on which interface they prefer, classic or new.

Did the perps fire off F-bombs back in SWAT 3, or is this a new feature?

context sensitive... put the target over the casualty, civilian, suspect and hit the middle mouse button...

I like the fact that the game pulls no punches with the language.

I believe that Eric Brosius of the Thief games is doing the sound and some of the voices. The quality is great, but I keep expecting the perps to call me a "taffer".

I love the bean bag shotgun, no excessive use of force with that one! First time I went through I took the bean bag shotgun and unloaded a whole magazine into a noncompliant perp, he was squirming after that one!
I really like how you can shoot guns out of people's hands and such. Another great feature is the taser gun, nobody will keep resisting after you hit them with that!

It is much easier to use the LTL weapons to stop the perps. Beanbags remove a level of restraint when dealing with a hostile and the taser helps you force compliance when the civilians just don't get it. However, I prefer the honor and dignity of a killing weapon over those LTL gadgets. LTL enforces ultimate control over someone, denying them a righteous death in battle. Gah! Those who bring killing weapons deserve killing weapons! Gah! LTL has no honor! Gah!

Well after my first run through I picked up an M4 even though I hate them. I have worked on my aim and now shoot the guns out of their hands, instead of killing them, most of the time.....

What they need is a bean-bag mini-gun. The shotgun shoots too slow, and if their morale is high you don't know if they are complying or are going to start spraying their mac 10 or what have you. The game really makes you see how frickin hard it would be for SWAT, as they can't open fire until the enemy does and oftentimes it is too late. :( Unless you don't mind losing points for force...

Well they can open fire in certain situations, such as when the guy is pointing a gun at them.

If you want to be able to kill everyone play Rainbow Six, great series and still very realistic, but due to the stakes you are allowed to kill everyone and often told to.

I tried to Taser a fellow cop in the nutsac but nothing happened.

I think their suits protect them from taser fire. Try getting a shot into both eyes at once on one of the mechanics that is not complying. If you take lethal weapons, drop a sting grenade between their legs. They'll comply .

I hear it is fun to give your whole element beanbag shotguns and kill one of the officers. They'll pummel and pummel you.

Giving your whole team beanbags in the demo is stupid. The bad guys just go "ouch" and kill them all. You need at least one with an M4...

I've recieved scores of 95 and above with the all-beanbag loadout. You and your team need to be ruthless. Use bangs and stings when you clear, and if they don't surrender immediately, fire the shotgun and keep firing!!! After about 3 beanbags, take a half-second to check if he goes down. If he does not comply, give him two more. Repeat until suspect complies.

I never get high scores.... I am too impetuous and go in first always, so I end up getting killed/incapacitated after taking a few small injuries to my amrs and legs and taking down 15+ suspects. I have a QMB scenario with fanatical suspects and 25 of them. I have never finished it...
