Movies like food depends on what I crave for.
Ladyhawke... despite the music and weapon quality is essentially the best rpg like movie that is more about personal conflict then epic... milk chocolate.
Clint Eastwood movies... more gritty yet still pure entertainment... more like a hamburger. Where most hollywood movies are candy floss.
Lord of the Rings... The first one is close to the book and then they diverge more so as they go on... all you can eat fried chicken.
Kuraswawa's films ... very well done... steak medium rare with a bit of blood leaking out now and then.
I watch my films for entertainment not hardcore facts...
'the usual suspects'
in the back of my mind during the whole movie, it was bothering me that there was a british lawyer with a japnese name and an indian accent. and the ending caught me completely by suprise. the only time i was completely bamboozeled by a film.

Fighting for Truth , Justice and the American way
Which Henry V do you mean? The Lawrence Olivier one or the Branaugh one? They are both really good even though the prior is much much older(1944, in color!).
Festen.
Tis a choice between
The Shawshank Redemption
Pulp Fiction

"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

It's hard - but think I would put in the alien trilogy

I liked both - however the Branaugh one if I remember correctly is done more like a play then the Lawrence Olivier filmOriginally Posted by Byzantine_Prince

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Zardoz. Or Hawk the Slayer. You guys are skipping right over the classics.
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
I much prefer the one with Branagh. The version with Olivier was cut to death. All the good stuff was cut down to single phrases. Bleah!Originally Posted by Byzantine_Prince
Was looking for Henry V on DVD last weekend but couldn't find it. Try, try again.

the good, the bad, and the ugly is a fantastic movie. the definitive spaghetti western, and undoubtedly one of the best westerns ever.

Trainspotting.
Although, (like usual) the book is about ten times better.
