We had a problem a couple of years back with gun control people coming here and ruining the forums because of the constant gun threads and abuse in the backroom. For this reason and others similar, it is for people who have shown that they are sensible and deserve membership status.

Of course as well as what Colo said too.

It doesn't go on number of posts - it is based solely on the quality of what you write and the way you treat others (or so I believe)
