You guys that write mods often correct the issues the game makers overlook and so I thought this would be the best place to mention this.
Disasters really have no real effect on the game but they should have a major impact. For example, I had a flood in Germania. The flood happened for one turn and then disappeared. No effect at all on the game. What should happen is something like this : Flood happens, the flood causes famine in the towns and provences near it. The famine causes tribal migrations(all people have a need for food and dry land) and since they can't go north they migrate south into my northen territories in search of food and new land to claim. The flooded area should not be habitable again for several turns.
Another example, the erruption of vesuvius(spelling?). Pompi and Herculinium should have been fishing towns on the map already...... Then the erruption would actually mean something when the towns are whiped out.
Storms at sea should sink ships(i think they do already) and happen regularly especially in the winter.
This might be to much for a mod but i would be cool to see maybe in the next TW game. CA should just comb these boards and collect the ideas. They would make the best strategy game ever. The ideas I read from some of you on these boards make me wish you guys were the developers.
