    Interesting nokhor. I'd not heard of this before. It seems odd that such an astronomical event would be over and done in 1/10th of a second.

    i was just suprised that the largest monitored explosion in history happened two weeks ago, and i accidentally stumbled upon it yesterday.

    Hehehe, actually, the story came out two weeks ago. The event happened December 27th - almost two months prior to the story! I wonder why the delay? Perhaps it is just that they were verifying all their data. After all the "the sky is falling" hype in the media over some of the potential asteriod-Earth collision predictions in the past couple of years, maybe they are being extra careful.
