    Default Golden Oldies

I was surfing around on the net when I stumbled on to this site. Its got many of the shows I loved as a kid. Its what passed for adventure back then. This is stuff like Robinhood, Sir Lancelot, Ivanhoe and William Tell to name a few. Most of them hae viedoe clips. Remember some of these are from the mid 50s. You wont se them very often. I wonder if anyone here will recognise any of them. I know almost all of them.

I've seen the majority of these, mostly from my grandparents. Ahh...the times spent at the couch, my grandmother bringing me drinks and my grandfather and I sitting back and watching these movies. The ones I am familiar with are:
    William Tell
    Long John Silver
    Francis Drake
    Scarlet Pimpernel
    Ivanhoe
    Sir Lancelot
    Robin Hood
    Buccaneers
    Count of Monte Cristo

the others I'm quite unfamiliar with, probably because my grandparents didn't posess them on VHS or anything like that.

It really upsets me that none of these shows are on TV now. You would think one of the oldie networks would show some of them.

    HiGawain of Orkeny

    Thanks for the link

It certainly brings back memories for me.
They were tv programs when I had just left school.

They dont make programs like that today.

Ahh, are these the mythical television shows where the characters actually get along with one another? Nifty.

In today's shows everyone is always violently arguing and the main characters all hate each other.
