Thread: Ah, generals... :))

    Default Ah, generals... :))

The year is 57BC. A bunch of bored young generals have finally found a way to entertain themselves

Actually, I didn't expect them to perform *that* well.

well it's part of the "generals less suicidal" of the 1.2 patch

Cavalry might have toned down a bit but to me it seems they made the bodyguards stronger.

What sucks is you probabaly could beat the whole campaign teaming up your generals under 1 command.

    That's awesome.

But I'm still confused how you could drag the game on till 57BC....

what the .... 57bc i can't even get to 170 bc. you should remove the 2 HP of general units, cause the general alreadu has 2 HP why should the bodygaurds be uberunits.

I won the battle but it would have been soon cool if i managed to get the other guys on the field. Awell i gues it is for your own sake, no limit might overload the computer totally

The game is limited to 20 units for you to control. That is hard coded as far as I have seen. And going beyond 20 units might very well be making it far harder to control and significantly more confusing.

Apparently, it was 75BC, but it does not make much of a difference, I guess :)

As a bonus, drag it a little bit further and I am going to witness the birth of you know who

I guess there is something critical I don't know yet. How do you guys manage to keep public order in new cities? I pretty much have to keep an army that has taken a city inside the city and recruit a new stack to move on. Now I could possibly field around 20 full-strength high-tech armies if they didn't have to babysit those oversized cities.

Well some people take a long time on purpose. I'm with you though, I can't draw the game out that long for some reason; just my play style I guess.

Dragging out the game as a Roman can actually be a benefit. Because if you are not too fast the Senate will like you and you can put off the civil war for a time. That will allow the other Roman factions to become powerhouses themselves, making for a very interesting civil war.
