    Default Making a new skin

    It may have been asked before but..how do i skin..when i open a folder with skins its all different..sometimes head on right sometimes on left..could u tell me how and where do i put each skin

    Sorry about the delay elethor, I'll do my best to help you. The skins vary in layout according to the model. If you want to know which models use which skins, look in descr_models_battle.txt in the Data folder, and if you want to know which units use which models, look in export_descr_units.txt.

    All the parts for each model are saved in one .dds file. Simple edit the bits you want and save, it should load them straight into the game. If you wan't more info, look in the guides forum, or ask me what want to do specifically. Sorry about the delay, and welcome to the forum...

    Yea but what if you make a new model...how does skinning a NEW model work...i emphaphise on things i dont need to

    I think you mean skinning in 3dsmax ie. the uv maps. Most new models use the same uv maps as the model they were based on so you just edit the texture file for the model it was based on. You can find which textures are assigned to each model in desc_model_battle. If you want to learn how to do uv maps in 3dsmax then I suggest looking in the tutorials section. If you modelled the unit yourself I would presume you know what the uv map is.
