To my knowledge you can't unify all Rome since the removal of the Senate causes erratic behavior of the game in some areas. But what if the Senate remained, but the three families were unified in one faction.I think that this would be not only more historicallly acurate, but would also free 2 faction slots.

well, no. if you only leave the senate, you don't get three free slots. since the relatiosn between those slots are hard coded: the new faction will still gte orders from the senate.
well what they could do is:
-leave only the senate, but that will leave tremendous bugs in campaign is guess.
-leave only senate and jullii, jullii will be playable and get orders, and get beafed up.
-leave senate and two romans.
-liek vanilla, leave all, an tone all down.

Actually I've played a camapign as the Senate in vanilla adn the only bug I've noticed was this: the 'Senate' tab was still there in the faction info screen, but when i tried to access it the game crashed.So is not such a big bug, but still annoying.

ok, so rome will be with three patriarch-families. at least that what i've read. could somebody give a source about the three families, cause i don't get it.

If you´re talking about EB, you´re wrong. There has been plenty of discussion revolving around this subject but patrician families system with the Brutus, Julius and Scipio, is definitely out of the question.

Last time I heard of this they´re were leaning towards a senate+3 system, and the factions were 'Socii' (Italian Allies) 'Optimates' ('Good Men', kind of Conservative party of time, favoured the interests of the old noble families of Rome) and 'Populares' ('Favouring the People', a kind of Socialist party of the time).

One more thing: it would be nice if, once you have proclaimed yourself emperor(conquered Rome and destroyed the other roman factions), your faction changed name into 'The Roman Empire' or something like this
