Wheel down, wheel down to southward! Oh, Gooverooska, go!
And tell the Deep-Sea Viceroys the story of our woe;
Ere, empty as the shark's egg the tempest flings ashore,
The Beaches of Lukannon shall know their sons no more!

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder
It depends on how you want to play. I would say the best way is not to advance to fast, try to get as many miners as possible, so max out your recruiting clicks every day for at least 5 days in a row every week. Also if you are in an alliance, make sure you enable the alliance recruiter, and use that first.Originally Posted by Crazed Rabbit
As more money starts coming in from your miners, invest primarily in defence, and then offence. It's best to invest in the upgrades at the armoury, rather than just investing in training new troops. So try to get one of each top level item from each category, for each soldier you have trained. Also when you can afford to start to train up a couple of spies, and upgrade them at the armoury as well.
Each time you move up a level you will gain a proficiency point, at the start of the game, use them to increase your charisma, as each point you have in this decreases the cost at the armoury by 1 %, which for the more expensive items, really starts to pay off after you have risen a few levels.
Hope that at least will get you started. These are all things I have either learnt myself, or been given advice about by members of the twcenter alliance. So have fun.![]()
By the way, Crazed Rabbit, zelda et al, I have clicked on all your links today.![]()

Keep a reasonably strong defence, but have little gold lying around. That way you're quite prickly to raid, for very little gain.Originally Posted by Crazed Rabbit

On the other hand I've got over half my workers mining and the other half split equally between offence and defence and 4 spies. And nobody attacks me because I'm dirt poor.Because I spend it all as soon as I get it.
