    I LOVE IT!!!

You havent lived if you havent eaten marmite!
GARCIN: I "dreamt," you say. It was no dream. When I chose the hardest path, I made my choice deliberately. A man is what he wills himself to be.
INEZ: Prove it. Prove it was no dream. It's what one does, and nothing else, that shows the stuff one's made of.
GARCIN: I died too soon. I wasn't allowed time to - to do my deeds.
INEZ: One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.

Saw this stuff in Australia all the time.

I actually did not try it because:

    a) it looks like ... well ... you know how it looks

    b) when asking what it was the answer was somehow not satisfactory (it sounded like it was some waste material from the production of other food)

    c) the name rather reminded me of some industrial adhesive or sealant (which brings me back to the looks)

To be honest I have never tasted the stuff

Yes it is. Its left over yeast from brewing. What, you don't like recycling, or you don't like beer?

The Australian stuff is vegemite, its not exactly the same but it will do in a pinch.

Geez, at least give it a shot.

On toast with a healthy slathering of butter, marmite is pretty good. Just don't over do the marmite, you won't be able to enjoy it for another 7 years.

I was skeptical but living in Austrailia for a small portion of my life and visiting England turned me into a marmitonian.

Never will come around on the whole 'meat pie' thing, though.

I am game to try anything at least once. However, I doubt I will give up limburger & leek sandwiches for marmite no matter it's connection to beer. Tell me, does marmite smell like a brewery?

Marmite is a vile abomination against all that is good and right...

I quite like marmite, especially on brown toast with a thin scraping of melted butter. My boyfriend hates marmite. Interesting factlet: The marmitey tang can last for a couple of hours, even if you brush your teeth very well with strong minty toothpaste several times. This can lead to some very interesting situations ...

Yes! That was the name of the brown goo.

I also like wine - doesn't mean I will have pomace on my bread for breakfast

Don't remind me of that ... there are some pictures out there of me trying to eat a meat-pie ... I kind of failed ... what a mess ...
