Slow moving mouse on campaign map. Help by advice

I m playing Rome total war on windows xp and my pc is made of
celeron 900
ati radeon 7000 series
521 mb ram
...


and my mouse is moving awfully slow on campign map ONLY.
it handles battle maps without problems at all, moves fast even if the batlle is big. the moves on the campaign map are also handled great per example spy movement or troop movement. the only problem is slow moving mouse arrow.
i had deinstalled it and reeinstalled it patched and there is no change.

1.2 patch improved that quite a bit. But I suggest you invest in a better graphic card.

damn, i tried installin patch 1.2 but it went in no direction at all. check my posts if interested.
graphic card is a no go cause of money issues.
