Thanks, I just didn't notice that when I looked through the tutorials section. I will also go and look for a plugin, which should not be too hard to find.

The only other problem is that there is no UI folder in my Data folder. I did a search for #ARMENIAN_LEGIONARIES and then for just #, in my Rome Total War Direrectory, and I did not see any entries for unit cards. I will have to look into this.

Hi there PLK,
Yours is not an uncommon problem and there are a couple of threads buried in the forum that can help you. First read this one, then read this one.
And let us know if you have no joy.
By the way I noticed you posted a tutorial on the other board, which is great, but it would be handy in the future if you put what the tutorial's about in the subject line. The easier we make the place to browse the better off we'll all be.

Yep, you need to unpack the pak files. Download Vercintorix x-pak. The link can be found in the list of tools in the guides forum...
Thank you very much for your help. I was able to download both tools without problems. My only other question is, will I need to repack the unit cards before the game will see them again.
And: when I try to save a .tga.dds file after editing it, do I need to select "Generate MIP Maps" or "Use existing MIP Maps". When I selected "Use existing MIP Maps" a dialog appeared which said, "Alpha Data Will Be Lost". I am using PSP9 and the NVIDIA DDS Plugin.

You don't need to repack the files, but you must eliminate the packs from the Data folder in order to see the modifications. If not, the game will look for the files first of all in the packs, where they are not modified.Originally Posted by Prince Laridus Konivaich
You must select "Generate MIP Maps". Be careful to save it in the format: DXT5 ARGB (Interpolated Alpha), and as 2D texture.Originally Posted by Prince Laridus Konivaich
Good luck!
Hmm... try looking at the thread entitled You don't need to repack PAK files which is currently two threads above this one.![]()
