Hi folks. I can't seem to find instructions on this. Any guidance is appreciated. I want to load an image onto a post.
Thank you.
the second tag needs a / at the end.Originally Posted by Divinus Arma

It helps if you type in the tags manuallyOriginally Posted by Divinus Arma
it also helps to have ur pic uploaded onto the interent :) if it isn't, there might be a slight problem :P
60+ new units – including the mighty Indian War Elephants, Persian immortals and Indian naked female archers.
The photo needs to be available on the internet, in other words you need to type in an url (http//blahblahblah.org/mypic).
There are some websites that will host photos (I forget the names, sometihng like myimage or imagehost)
If you want to post a screenie of the game there are options in the Mead Hall.

Stay Calm, Be Alert, Think Clearly, Act Decisively
CoH
1. find an image you want to insert
2. go to https://photobucket.com/ to upload it (there are others; search google for free image hosting).
3. Once uploaded, right-click the image, then left-click "properties" on the options menu. See the URL (starts with 'http:')? Copy that (left-click and hold at the beginning of 'http', drag your cursor to the end of the URL so that it is highlighted; let go of the left mouse button. Right-click the highlighted URL, then left-click 'copy' from the menu).
4. Make your post here. Type whatever words you want, and when it is time to put the image in, type [ then 'img' without the quote marks, then ]. Right-click after ] and left-click 'paste'. Now the image URL appears.
5. Type [ again, then slash '/img' (no quotes), then ]
For practice, go here:
https://jimcee.homestead.com/index.html
its one of my sites with images I have used here. It's OK to practice here in the Entrance Hall. Once you have the 'hang' of it, we'll delete the post.
edit: Sorry if that was too elementary for you. No offense intended. I hope it's helpful. -Kukri

Those screenies are saved in .tga file format, in the RTW folder labelled 'TGA'.
If you have an image-processing program (like PaintShop Pro or Photoshop) switching file formats is a snap. If you don't have such a program, we have TGA viewers available in our files section (courtesy Mizu Clan server)

Well your going to need a server and a ftp program.
astuteftp is decent enough,
prohosting.com and other sites give you like 50mb of free web space,
so open an account with some 1 like that,
they will give you an adress and a password.
use astuteftp to connect to the server,
upload your pictures to there 1st,
then come back here and do
[ IMG ]http://Your.Server.name.com/yourimage.jpg [ /IMG ]
No spaces.
heres a working example.

and heres what it looks like no spaces.

thanks guys, i've registered onto astutefp.. so hopefully some screenies will be along soon!![]()
thanks for all that, I can view tgas now but I still can't find where the tgas have been saved.
I've looked at C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\Data\tgas
and it's empty, I'm pressing the PrintScree/SysRq and the screen pauses for a split second when i do, so I know something is happening, i just cannot find where they've been saved
I have just searched for tgas in my RTW folder, and i have looked through all of them (it took alot of time) but I can't find the screenshots I took

The Order of Chaos

its not prnt screen key..
In STW you pressed F2
Sorry I should have been clearer, I'm talking about RTW, where I think the key is Print Screen/SysRq

check your manual Im shure its not PRT screen.
Cos prt screen Dumps data to your clip board,
Then you need to go and PASTE it in to your paint program,
HOWEVER, you cant Dump Direct X data In this manner,
So really It cant Possibly be that key,
Try f2 then go look in your TGA folder Like you have been.
if nothing Try other F# keys.
f1 f3 f4 and so on,
After pressing 1 go check your TGA folder,
But Im posative it cant be the prt screen button, becous thats not how that button works at all
I may be coxed in to going to check for you,
But i warn you Lol I disslike the game

i pressed Print Screen, so i'll try F2 and that now, ok thanks!
this is from the Readme file in the Help folder :
Screen Grab Function
Screenshots can be taken in game by using the Grab Screenshot key. This key is default bound to SysRq (the Print Screen key on some keyboards). Screenshots are taken in .TGA format and can be found in the ....\Rome ? Total War\tgas\ folder.
Problem is it's just not there, the folder is empty![]()
