Then you are missing out.
They figured out a way for you to choose a TYPE OF GOVERNMENT.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! **Howard Dean Scream**

The EB mod sounds horrible. Makes the barbarian factions seem civilised and have formiddable armies.
OK jokes aside it does seem like a pretty good piece of work and look forward to trying it out.
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
Cry havoc and let slip the HOGS of war
I just wish they give a public release before the next total war game comes out.
but likewise, I give my respect to the EB modders. They have done beyond a fantastic job from what i've seen.
"And when your return to your homes, tell your people that you left your general fighting in Boetia" Cornelius Sulla to a wavering line.
"It is easy to dismiss war as a simple bloody affair, nevertheless, none can deny that the greatest genious that man has possesed has always been in the pursuit of the simple, bloody affair", Klausewitz
Actually, tommh (who is now part of the EB team I believe) originally came up with and implemented the same idea for the Ptolemys in Rome: Total Realism for version 4.0 (or was it 3.2?).Originally Posted by Divinus Arma
Not really earth shattering news since it's been available since November to the general public.

What do you mean, "choose a form of government"?
Edit: Oh, I see. As Stuie says, this is hardly original. As far as I know, no fewer than four different sources have come up with the idea independently. RTR will be including something like that in 6.0—unrelated, I might add, to the EB announcement, which our announcement preceded.

In the way that we are implementing it, it is quite different from the way implemented in RTR. We have far different objectives for it.What do you mean, "choose a form of government"?

No, he is not. IIRC, the only member of EB that was a former member of RTR is khelvan.Originally Posted by Stuie

Yes, very creative for both of you for the "government types" setting. It provides longevity because of the much larger tech tree as longer time are needed for towns to be fully functional - or so I believe. Many can think of this themselves if they really try. Even I can, before it was announced. Though it was just a "dream in the air."
And of course, of all mods these two are some of the most creative/efficient. (probably most - but many other mods are great as well) So they (you, as a matter of fact) must think of something like this long before.
Besides, why would you two mods even care to fight each other? RTR's approach is a continuous, updated, gradual conversion original Rome into what they want it to be. While EB is...a total conversion from the start.![]()
Oh, and Khelvan/Urnamma/Aymar de Bois Mauri...I appoint you a new fanboy. His name is Divinus "aaahhhrrrggg" Arma.
P.S. I wonder what EB's will look like. My ideas about different government forms (dreams would be a better word) are rather RTR's like.
