    Default Some basic campaign editing

Ok I am totaly new to modding so forgive me if I made some stupid mistakes creating a new campaign map. What I wanted to do is making a new campaign map with the prologue's map.

Here is a summary from what I have done:

    1. I used some files from the sons of mars folder I copied and pasted them into a new folder. The files where:
    descr_disasters,
    descr_regions,
    descr_mercenaries,
    descr_regions_and_settlement_name_lookup,
    descr_strat,
    descr_terrain,
    map_climates.tga,
    map_features.tga,
    map_ground_types.tga,
    map_heights.tga,
    map_regions.tga,
    map_roughness.tga,
    map_trade_routes.tga,
    radar_map1.tga,
    radar_map2.tga,
    water_surface.tga and I added the map_FE.tga file

    2. I copied the sons_of_mars_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names in the text folder and pasted it and renamed it to newmod_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names

    3. Then I edited the descr_regions.txt file so that the julii would have Tarquinii as a city

    4. Then I did some basic editing to descr_strat.txt changing the start date changing the Tarquinii stats ect and I changed radar2.tga to the same size as map_regions.tga

But eventualy I dident get the map loading it just keeps on crashing to my desktop and I dont know what to edit anymore.

So if one of you would be kind enough to check if my files are ok or if any1 has got some tips than that would sure help out.
I uploaded my files here http://www.geocities.com/rometotalwar2004/mod.zip

    Thx in advance

Hey Maly Jacek, spykiller already knows how to edit the campaign map. I can't see the use of you link. Besides, if you want a campaign map guide, this one is the best https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=39456

I'll have a look at your files, spykiller. My first impression is that you didn't copy the file in the text folder for the city names... Have you?

Yes I already know some campaign editing but thanks anyway. And did copied the text file sons_of_mars_regions_and_settlement_names and renamend it to newmod_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names

Though I saw one mistake I had a wrong campaign name but I fixed it and it still doenst work. And I made the descr_strat.txt file a bit more synoptic it now looks like this http://www.geocities.com/rometotalwa...escr_strat.txt
    but still no succes

actually im trying to do the same thing and the thing is, the big guys,
Duke John and that Mrrdral they are some the greatest campaign modders in the world, for Rome total war I mean they like represent everything that is Rome, and yes they share their skill, but, however, as much as i respect them i think they should take on some responsibilities, for example, Answer peoples questions and perhaps take them more seriouse, i must say, your guides are exelent but perhaps, unfinished, im no noob to modding, but after 6 weeks of trying this stupid map, which by the way is on the same principles of my friend spykiller here, and i have been unsucsessful in taken the prologue map and enlarging it to about 4x the size, i think i will go mad,
so please Mrrhdral and Duke John - your idols to us and help us out please,
this was a community plea done by myself KingJo5
