Chariots

I was wondering why chariots (Heavy type ones not archer ones) are so useless? I just ran a custom battle now with me using British Heavys against Celtic swords man and the chariots were smashed. It seems the chariot will run over a lot of men but they would simply get back up. I'm wondering if there is any modding i could do to make sure once a man gets knocked down on the floor by a chariot he wont get back up

in another forum, there are screenshots of a modded chariot smashing through roman legionaries...
sorry but i don't know which forum and i dont know how to improve chariots!
