Absolutely agree - weather was spectacular in STW, got kind of dull in MTW (though winter fights still were a treat) and is completely dull in RTW. Maybe it has something to do with all the animations that have to run smoothly on the battlefield, dunno, (not a tekkie by any means) but it's a big loss... atmosphere just isn't the same anymore.

In 1.2 I got some rain in N Europe and some sandstorms in the East. The rain was simply some lines popping in and out on the desktop. Sandstorms were some blur rotating in close-up.

Seemed to be there just to block your view, not to make the game more tense.

CA had stated on more than one occassion that the old weather effects just were not possible with the new engine. Storms and the like were impressive back in STW/MTW.

I've had some good fog in a couple of battles, but that was using the RTR mod. It's very dense, looks great and burns off about halfway through the battle.
