Is there anyway to play as the non-playable factions, such as Macedon? I've looked in the tutorial forum, since I thought this would be quite a popular question, but I didn't find any tutorial for it. If I missed it, please direct me to it, after yelling at me. :)

Yeah, but the best way to play as them is to download the SPQR mod, that way you dont have to deal with changing around files ect and plus you have way better and cooler looking units to chose from.

OR you could just go to

the RTW folder and go to Datta/world/maps/campaign/imperial campaign/ and click of the notepad icon with the name "descr_strat" and cut and paste the factions you want to play to playable from non-playable.

    And your good.

I checked out the SPQR mod, but I thought it added alot of useless stuff that would only ruin the gameplay (0 turn training?) so, I decided to go with Zharakovs tip instead. But thanks to the both of you!

    Completed Factions Mod v1.2:

    http://www.twcenter.net/downloads/db/index.php?mod=75

This mod also updates the faction choice screen with descriptions and maps of the factions and portraits of their leaders.

Ah! the Generals! they are numerous, but not good for much (especially if they're Languorous)!

That's more like it! I'm guessing it doesn't add any hyspaspists or swordsmen to Macedon? I heard they had none. Oh well, there's always mercenaries.

PTW will let you play Macedon? I didn't know they had anything to do with the Punic Wars.

Apparantly the Macedonians were allied to Carthage and were coming to pwn Rome, but their fleet was sunk thus ending their potential participation in the war.

So I gathered from posts in these forums :).

The First Macadonian War was an integral part of the Second Punic War. It engaged Rome at a time when she seemed to be at the end of her resources. The war was instigated by Philip V, king of Macedon, and as the new king was a boy of 16, his advisors.
