The option to "wait" (up to 3 times) before before entering deployment what exactly does this do? I have clicked it with no effect. I bring this up because I hear people whine about storm's effects on archery and lack of variation of weather. If you "wait" does this perhaps bring you to a later time of the day when it's not raining or vice versa? Is this the answer to actually getting night battles? Try it out for kicks.

I think it's just some option to let you hear your generals speech? de only thing I can think of.
and I don't think you can wait till night cause there are no night battles in RTW exept in custom battles

Changes the weather as far as I know. However, don't expect great results. Weather isn't random, and so if it's raining one time period, there is a good chacne it will be raining the next time etc.

That is exactly right. This feature is a holdover frm the older games when weather, especially massive fog, could really interfere with armies. Imagine an archer heavy army attacking in a rainstorm: wet bowstrings = archer penalty. Clicking on the [WAIT] option gives you the opportunity to wait a couple of days and see if the weather gets better.

It was considerably more useful in MTW, in RTW the archers don't seem to have much of a penalty in rain.

While I have never been in the "It's been all down hill since Shogun" camp, the truth is that weather has never been as well done in TW as it was in Shogun.
