also wehre to get war elephant mercs? never had luck running into one,

am julii, would be nice to have elephants for egypt, pontus, and seleucid.

if you look on the campaign map there are some provinces that have elephants represented on the map, you can get them from those regions.

But they are very rare so you may be waiting a long time to get some Esuoheraw Elephant Mercs

Their very rare. But you find them near elephants on the map.

Less specifix: Afrika and mideast erea.

I found some in Numidia, but you will ever only get one unit and losses cannot be replaced so hang onto them and use them wisely (I shipped mine home to Italy and used them when I stormed Rome, they were killed but slaughtered 4 or 5 Roman cohorts in a trail of devastation down one long street. I have a screenshot somewhere of the mess they made).

Yubsteb elrphants? Aren't they the ones 3 times bigger than armoured (like in LoR)?
I thought those were not for campaigns. I reckon it'd be virtually impossible to beat them with ordinary units.

Erm, Yubtseb elephants are untrainable anywhere.

They come from cheat, no, I mean, they are summoned for the followers of the God of Shiny Things That Humans Don't Need But Want Anyway.

Of course, I once modded them dead cheap and trainable from Governer's house. Though they had no skin (slave only if you want skin) and all white. It's unnecessary to say how I beat up the game within 10 years...

They are larger than Mumagil and the people on top are actually Cretan Archers. They have one big weakness, though: they are so large it's hard to move them around (stuck) and they left formations broke apart in their wake.

open the command consol by hitting the ~ button, type in "oliphant" without the "". a unit will appear at your capitol. They are huge but they will still rout easily so be careful they don't trample your own men.

6 times bigger and you need a cheat for it or just enable them by putting them in desc_mercenaries

The cheat is in fact "oliphaunt", but you have to assign the unit to a character or settlement as well.. how do i do this?

i think if you have a settlement selected, then enter the cheat it should work. If not they SHOULD appear at your factions capitol.

try it and see if that helps.

I've tried that too and it didn't work..
I'll tell you exactly what happened:

I entered oliphaunt and it said something along the lines of "You must assign this unit to a character but a settlement or fort will do."

I typed oliphaunt again and it said "err. cheat not recognised press [?] for help" etc.

not sure, it worked when i did it. The unit appeared at my faction capitol.

thats because RTW is made in such a way, that after you use the cheat you can't use it again until you restart the game.

the cheat can only be used once or twice per session. like most other cheats (besides FOW) you will have to restart RTW to use it again.

1 select character/fort/settlement
2 type cheat
3 start battle
4 have fun

or

1 copy the yutseb unit into desc_mercenaries
2 start game
3 start battle
4 have fun

I selected my capital before I typed the cheat in and it didn't work!! This is annoying me!

well than go for aproach 2 and make them available as mercs in the campaign.

btw maybe cheating does't work at all at your game. try add_money 20000 and see if you get 20000 denari extra.

and did you pressed ~ that button after you selected a city and typed the cheat
