Thread: Creating a realistic assassin

    Default Creating a realistic assassin

Ok guys, I have decided that we should spend some effort to create a realistic assassin. This requires two components: a model with a skin, and an animation that regulates his behavior. I can create the proper 'assassin' animations, so here's what I need for someone else to volunteer:

    1) either we create a whole new assassin model/skin that is similar to the spy, or

    2) we take the spy model/skin for assassins, and create a less insiduous and dangerous model/skin for the spies themselves

I need some talented modelers/skinners to do their part, and I will do mine. This has to be a high quality model/skin, because this is the campaign map and units have to look cool there.

You know what would be an interesting idea? Creating an assassin that acts as a unit in battle, but can't initiate a battle but has the assassin agent action outside of battle (like a support unit, with a bow or something in battle).

You know, an arabic mercenery has a good skin for one, sadly you cant get them on the world map... But IF someone made an assassin that could tag along in a fight, that would be a cool in battle model for one.

Why can't you use an ingame model on the campmap? If its only the size then it can't be too hard...

to get a model on the strat map, you need to edit the descr_model_strat file and replace the .cas there with the high-poly cas file from the unit, and the texture. it will appear on the stratmap then, i did this with the CA spartans for the greek faction's lesser general

For assasins how do the animations work? You have two attacks, sabotage and kill...

Sabotage, kill, move, stand idle, stand idle when clicked, etc, not a whole lot but quite a few.

I know how to insert game models into campaign map. Myrddraal asked,

"Why can't you use an ingame model on the campmap?" And I'm simply not sure what he was referring to there.
