No they were an R &B group not a blues group. Now Cream there was a blues group or better yet John Mayall or the original Fleetwood Mac. THe stones were more like Chuck Berry and Little Richard than BB King.The Stones considered themselves blues musicians back in the day, like Steppe said: there's a fine line between blues and rock.

Seriously, I think Janis was one-of-a-kind and a pillar in the modern music hall of fame. Personally I'm partial to the Wilson sisters, a.k.a. Heart. Always loved those gals.
