The Stones considered themselves blues musicians back in the day, like Steppe said: there's a fine line between blues and rock.

No they were an R &B group not a blues group. Now Cream there was a blues group or better yet John Mayall or the original Fleetwood Mac. THe stones were more like Chuck Berry and Little Richard than BB King.

I don't disagree with you, but they thought they were blues musicians at the time.

Seriously, I think Janis was one-of-a-kind and a pillar in the modern music hall of fame. Personally I'm partial to the Wilson sisters, a.k.a. Heart. Always loved those gals.
