    Question Increasing Acumen

How does one increase a governor's acumen, besides just handing them titles or aquiring Vices and virtues? Is it possible?

Nope, only way is through titles and vices and virtues. although building specific structures can gain a governer money making virtues such as steward or good farmer for building the farm upgrades. There is also a Good Trader Virture but as yet i have not seen that this is directly linked to building trade structures.

One little trick I've learned is to watch the V&V's that your generals earn. They usually only go to the leader of each stack (there are a couple of exceptions), so try to keep four-feather generals at the top, and keep your govs at the top. Watch for the acumen-increasing virtues to appear. Since many of them are part of a series, if the general earns the first one he is more likely to earn the second. For example, if he gets "educated" he is on his way to becoming "highly educated", just like "drunk" is on his way to "alcoholic". (I may have some of the words wrong, but you get the idea.)

I think that "athiest" gives four feathers, but it takes away all his piety making him more suceptible to inquisitions. Still my favorite.

Hope this makes some sense. Best,

Your other option is to cull your heirs with an eye toward getting high acument leaders. Then when he is king his heirs will have more acumen and the brothers make great governors when they are no longer princes. Just like most people breed toward more command stars, I breed toward more acumen feathers. Generals are easy to raise in battle, it is harder to get high acumen leaders.

Yes, hello and thank you, it's nice to have this.

Thank you for your responses they are quite helpful.

Are there any buildings that a kingdom can only have one of which will grant titles that add acumen?

Yes, there are. Building a chancellery will give you the "Earl Chamberlain" title, which bestows two acumen feathers. I'm not sure about others....

Which brings me to a question I've been meaning to ask - does anyone know of a list of buildings/titles for MTW? I've been meaning to put one together for myself, but never seem to quite get around to it.

    P.

EDIT - Note that sometimes you can build the building in multiple provinces, but you will only get to award the title once.
