when I palyed a Germania campaign I send a family member with one Gothic cav through Scythia south. They gathered all mounted mercs they could get: some Samatian Lancers, one Scythian archer, one barb cav.

With these I met the Brutii. A very big battle. Please look at my post in Germania.
