about RTR

hi guess,
every time i want to fight against the Ptolemaics in RTR the game falls out in the loading screen. Does someone have a solution for that or a mod?

What version are you using, of RTW and of RTR? Have you, in the recent or distant past, ever modified this installation of RTW, before or after installing RTR? What was the order that you installed the patches in?

This sounds to me like an unclean or improper install. You should use a newly-installed copy of RTW only, and be sure to install RTR as directed.

I use RTR 5.4.1 and RTW 1.2 and I installed it correctly as said in the readme.
But every time i want to play battle with the new made troups like the greek mercenaries with the Ptolemaics than i have the loading screen and when it is on the half of the loading thing it goes back and thean the game falls out.

no I have'nt madified anything ever.

Try enabling the -show_err command line switch, like so: Create a shortcut to RomeTW.exe, then right-click on it and select Properties. In the Target field, go to the very end, after the quotation mark, and add a space followed by -show_err. The line should now read something like:

"C:\Games\Rome Total Realism Test 6.0\RomeTW.exe" -show_err

Now try playing the battle again and see if it returns an error.

Another tack would be to try reinstalling RTR. This shouldn't cause any problem with your saved games, it should be quite quick, and it will fix any errors you may have made in installation. It would only take one slip in specifying a directory or something to screw up your game.
