Please make a choice that best reflects your opinion of RTW: 1-10.
Hmm.... no options are showing.

It no longer interests me. Medieval had me playing for months, but this is so shallow, like buying an ice cream cone and only getting a sugar cone with nothing in it.

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

I didn't know how to answer this, because while I think vanilla RTW sucks, and doesn't deserve more than a 4 or 5, I just installed RTR and suddenly the game has become a lot more fun, at least for now.
So I've compromised and given it a 6. Playing RTR has made me realize the potential this game has, which could be achieved with a bit more tweaking and polishing from CA. What I'd especially like to see are, obviously, improved campaign and battle AI, a better strategic balance (something to be done to stop the steamroller effect), a better developed diplomacy (for example, factions should gang up against any faction which takes the lead in number of provinces, until they knock it back to average size, as in games like Imperialism II) and more moddability. Come to think of it, it probably wouldn't be that hard to make diplomacy itself moddable, that could make for some pretty interesting mods...
4 - could have been great, but wasn't and still isn't.
Voted 6 - RTW is not as great as I hoped (though my reasons are different from those that are mostly mentioned on this forum), however, I still continuously play it and have a good time with it.
gotta say, those were some funny descriptions for poll choices![]()
This poll is a very nice example of the gaussian distribution...
btw i voted 9, but perhaps it deserved less...

From MTW:Turks, Egyptians to MTW2: Turks again!. Passing through RTW: Scythia, Sarmatia/Baktria(this was in RTR, right?) and BI: Sarmatia, again!
What?? Sign above the dotted line?? of course!
Please! A good poll should have a maximum of three choices. Two choices is best. Any more than that, and you do not have a true reflection of the community's sentiment. You have a bunch of mismatched opinions, which can be just as easily gleaned from reading posts.
If you want to know how the community in general feels about something, your poll choices must be general. Therefore, a good poll would have two answers: "I like the game" and "I do not like the game."
By the way, I give the game a two. I would give it a one for playability, stability, realism, and historical accuracy, but what effort that went into it and the potential the game has demands another point. No, I do not like the game any more. I am not playing single player at all, and I only started playing multiplayer again because a group of people from the other forum started playing together.
Well, your scale is a little off-putting. For example, if you had asked me to rank RTW on a scale of 1-10, I'd probably say 7. But your 7 is "A damn fine game. Truly enjoyable.", which doesn't, in my mind, fit RTW. And there is no game in existence that fits your 8-10 rating (again, imo).

Hmmm.
It's what I like to call "Divinus Arma's silly little way of telling a retarded joke because it is fun to have fun poking fun at things that are fun or not fun, depending on whether or not you like it and I am sorry that you did not get my dry sense of humor you lonely wretched hermit of a soul trapped behind a computer" type of poll.
In case you really care, the rankings are for fun. Choose 1-10 as you see fit. As you know, no game will ever be "Satan's ultimate revenge and sign of the apocalype" either.
And by the way, this response is another demonstration of my miserably dry sense of humor.

Just one old soldiers opinion.
We need MP games without the oversimplifications required for 'good' AI.
An awesome game, and that's all there is to it. If you go to gamerankings.com, you'll find that it's the second highest scoring historical RTS of all time, second only to Age of Kings.
Benny_moore - sorry to mock you, but I knew you were american when i read your post, and before i checked where you were from. Two choices to represent a spectrum of opinion? You've been trampled and beaten by your so-called electoral system.
Voting is an illusion to allow the common man to believe he has some control.
*grin* This coming from someone in the UK? You sure have a wide spectrum to choose from. Conservatives on the right, Labour on the right... (the Lib Dems are quite funky, though)
I like the descriptions on the poll! They're funny! 6 for me!
I voted
7:A damn fine game. Truly enjoyable.
The desription exactly hits it.
