A castle defense related question, I would appreciate if someone could answer :

Your castle is besieged. You bring troops from outside the province to help the sally forth effort. You happen to lose. In that case do your troops retreat to the castle (thus if more troops are there shortening the siege time since there are more troops eating the reserves) or is your province and castle lost?

Also if the enemy siegeing your castle and you beat 'em back on the siege field I presume the siege goes on (minus the dead soldiers on both sides...?)
