I set the UNLIMITED MEN ON BATTLEFIELD to TRUE in my preferences file. What is this supposed to do exactly? I thought you can't have more than 20 units on screen at once...?

Well if you let the AI controll them they can be on the battlefield. It's just you can only control 20 units.

Beleive me, I know, I've just been fighting 7000 egyptians.

So unlimited men on battlefield means the AI will bring the reinforcements with no limit into the battlefield as long as it's set to TRUE, is that correct?

I don't know. All I know is that many egyptians are hard to deal with. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Yes, the AI will be there always with no delay. If you let the AI control your reinforcement, they will be there as well. If you control all units, then they will arrive but not cross the red-line to join until there is an open slot.
