    Great poem RabidGibbon!
"A man's dying is more his survivor's affair than his own."
    C.S. Lewis

"So many people tiptoe through life, so carefully, to arrive, safely, at death."
    Jermaine Evans

we lie on the beaches of France
    till the streets of berlin
    a band of brothers
    our hope never stretched thin
    meter for meter
    we push them back
    town for town
    falls in our hands
    we stand infront Hitlers bunker
    and soon it will end

    We do not sow.

Just for the fun of it, eh?

    An ode to Subjective Reality

    Admiral Bird once was heard to comment on the cold;
But what did HE know up in the snow,
    Tho he was very bold........

For 'reality' is not what you see,
    It's something that you 'think'....

So next time you 'smell' , you'll know quite well
    It's you mind that stinks!

I have the heart of a little child, and the brain of a genius; I keep them in a jar under my bed.

These are some Poems i wrote Awhile back. Poetry was a hobby of mine i have not been keeping up with.

    Life’s Candle

    A candle amid the darkness,
A flame burning till its end:
    Life crawls as fire sputters,
A fire many wish to comprehend.

    And slowly wax gives way
Being spent but not yet lost.
    Sometimes it finds a foothold,
Coating the future like a frost.

And that flame shall ever burn
So long as time is left to melt,
And frost can be relived with fury
Or it can pass by, hardly felt.

But don’t think old wax is lost
For it’s waiting to be rerun,
    And it shall ever coat
    The future, not yet done.

    Is that you, or them?

Each day you dress up, you’re running away.
Put on that fake smile. Laugh at all those jokes.
Just keep yourself busy. Or come the day
It should dawn upon you; your life’s a hoax.

And when you put on that work uniform
    Remember it’s not actually you.
And remember when you obey orders
That its not what you really want to do.

So don’t let them plant for you the seeds of
You’re worth. Or else it is not truly pure.
And what we see isn’t the hand but the glove
That society places on and calls the cure.

So do not let them alter your mind
Or inside you it’s not you, you will find

    History is Hate

A pity it is to think on
    The blood lost for naught
A pity it is to think on
    Wars been, and being fought

Protect those few with a father
    Do not expose the blood
Protect those few still in tact
Do not turn water into mud

    never expose the innocents
To the hate of our history
For then they will not be innocent
    And peace will never be

    Peace

    Where is the man
Who has a one sided coin
    Where is the soul
    Who never pays the toll

    When will you awaken
    When will you learn
Don’t run form death in fear
    For the pain lies here

In those hungry eyes of the starving
In the mind of the betrayed
In the ego of the aggressor
    Life, death, which is lesser

I tell you there is no light
    There is no heavenly hall
    No feast upon arrival
    Neither death nor survival

    So don’t run from death
    Don’t prolong the wait
    But don’t get to specific
For it’s neither evil nor terrific

    It’s peace..

    Just Beyond That Shed

    Just around that shed
Lies a land I shall claim
And I shall be the first to tread
The lands that will earn me fame

And beyond, in a distant cave
Lies a beast of infamous fear
And lies a people I will save
    When the beast shall disappear

And farther then lies a man of hate
    Who murders people for fun
But his time will soon abate
For at my hands he shall be done

And farther then where there’s sand
Lie pirates who shall put me to sea
To take me to yonder land
    Indeed pirates await me!

But now I’m older bigger and stronger
And I know there’s no pirates on the sea
But how the day grows longer
Now that no pirates await me

    The Maximum of the Mind

“why” is the greatest point in understanding
Eight lines when immersed in thought
And even though the motion of seeking finds no answer
It grasps a locked door and “why” is wrought

Can something be born from nothing
    It’s a theory few heed
How could there be nothing, more, how could there be something
Without soil, and born from no seed

Perhaps a seed is not needed
And god supplies what we are
But then were was god himself seeded
    Eight lines, not very far

And now open gaping arms clash with wood
And slowly search and find cold metal
But it will not turn and in reality never could
And “why” has yet to settle

On my knees I lay before the world
Scouring for an omen with every sense
To allow my road to be unfurled
So I need not ponder this point hence

I need to be pointed on my way
For I can not choose on my own
For I see lives ruined in a day
And one road leaves the other unknown

I don’t want to lunge one way into
life, when I cannot turn around
So I sit here with all my roads in view
I might be heading wrong, I wish not be bound

And that is why I sit in wait of an omen
So I know to which is right
A door into the answers den
Just a chance to see truths light

    Hells Hidden Trough

Evil shall be made by truths protector
And evil will rise in form of gem
When the judge becomes more guilty
Then those he may perhaps condemn

And fate has now set his course deep
That power shall change mans own will
    And no justice is expected
For the poor souls placed in the sill

So seek no justice from power
For twas gained at morals price
And those with power find themselves
A part of evils very own device

And there is little one can hope for
As now the trap has been set off
And the latter that shall lead to power
Is also hells very well hidden trough

    Truth against Proof

Do not hold stead fast to a truth
For it may obscure a change
    For everything has some proof
    And truths can rearrange

So do not hold fast to one cause
    For it may obscure another
And do not hold fast to one life
For one can change to the other

And when another proof shall rise
    Do not cast it away
For proof can change truth to lies
But only if there’s a mind, to prey

Let the words of all proof
    Linger in your head
Until one proof emerges as truth
And weighs you, to cause: like lead

I dislike poetry with the fiery passion of a thousand suns but unfortunately I've been told I'm fairly good at it...

Do poems here have to specifically pertain to war or history?

I did not mean to censor your beliefs. I merely had an issue with the way you expressed them. I apologize if I was to draconean in my actions, but I was in an awfull hurry and the internet kept failing me.

No, almost everything goes. However, I am a bit queesy about allowing potentially inflammatory material here. Many people have strong feelings about religion (or politics, for that matter), so we'd rather keep those in the Backroom.
