Hi and welcome to the .org.
First there was the original Shogun game, then came the expansion pack "Mongol Invasion". The Warlord edition combines both into one package.
So, if you already have the original Shogun game, get the expansion. If you don't, get the Warlord edition. Btw, the "Mongol Invasion" can only be installed on top of the original game.

Just a note: I don't think the Mongol Invasions expansion pack, which added on to the original Shogun, was ever made available in the US. I think Warlord Edition was the only option here, which was essentially the "new, expanded" Shogun--a full game and not an expansion install.

Hi Sammy,
Hmm...as tha game grows older there's still quite a lot of people wanted to play this game...just glad to know that people still want to have and play this game.
Bottom line, if you like Japanese history during tha Sengoku Jidai period...you should probably get this game, it's totally recommended. Btw, Warlord Edition definitely.

But id still recomend it.

I live in Vermont (US state in the NE) and had never heard of the expansion until signing up here. I have vanilla STW, still a great game by all accounts.
