Default What are you looking forward to?

I am currently playing SPQR mod, and it is sooo much more enjoyable than vanilla. It's enjoyable, actually

However there are other lights in the end of the event horizon; there are several sweet-looking mods coming up. One of them is even being made by people who get payed for it, the once great CA

So which one are you looking forward to the most?
And why? And wherefore? And what-what?

I'm looking forward to playing EB and Wheel of Time mod (check my signature if you don't know what it is).
I'll play EB because it'll be the most accurate and complete version of RTW and Wheel of Time mod because I like Jordan's series
As for BI, I will certainly not pay twice for a game that should already work properly.

Europa Barbarorum will be the best thing to happen to RTW since its conception. And for some reason, the expansion pack isn't turning me on as much as I thought it would... hmpf...

RTR 6.o without a doubt. Cant wait until we get zones of recruitment with roman armies reflecting regional auxiliaries!

Also the LOTR mod. the campaign map looks Fan-feckin-tastic and the units must be the best looking of any TW game. Oh boy, armies of rangers here I come.

(oh, and an AI patch )

It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.

A decent battlefield AI that has some of sort of clue as to whats its doing.

I don't want to see any more suicide generals, a line of phalanx suddenly going walkabout in all directions, grouped units doing as they please...

I hope that the expansion is not just some elaborate mod !

I'm new to RTW but love it. What are all these mods you are talking about? Are they downloadable and how do you read about what the mod does so you know if you're interested. Being new, I certainly don't know what all the abreviations mean (I did get the LOTR one - I'm not totally clueless).

    Thanks,
    Tuck

    Thanks,
A mod is a modifed version of vanilla Rome.

Some very talented people get together and change the original for something better (or sometimes worse). This can include new units, factions, changes to existing units etc, etc....

It can provide a whole new dimension to Rome.

Check out this link for an awesome mod in progress:

Two good places to look are
    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=74
    and
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php?showforum=63

Heaps of other mods, both finished and doomed are listed at
    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=76

The ones in the poll are not released yet, but several others are available for download. Depending on your tastes, you may find that they greatly enhance your gaming experience, or are buggy and prevent you from joining MP games...
(most of the ones I've tried actually make the game less buggy)

    No doubt, BI.

What I have seen so far of the xp sounds quite good.

And the bugs in the vanilla don`t bother me that much.

    GAH!

The medieval mod to the patch to the BI expansion which if I'm lucky will include captures/ransoms, but since that is a pipe dream I have to go with the old standard of GAH!

I guess BI. I am playing Darthmod 4.5 right now and love it. If you have not tried it, I suggest that you do. A very good challenge

    THE EB BI.

Okay, so they haven't even mentioned it (not that I know anyway), but I think we could count on a group this dedicated.

    Hmmm... capture/ransom... nice.

Even better: Titles and legio: III Gallica, IV Macedonica, conferred titles available following election to a senate office... (I.E. a consul could name tribunes and proconsuls) Most important: Legio titles for sure. That title granting thing from MTW sure was cool!

    EB-BI !!!! EB-BI!!!!

    (but EB first, of course!)

    EB and Blue Lotus. Definately!

And if they pull through and actually finish what they started: Westeros Total War (based on GRR Martins series)

Mmh. So I'm up to 4 installs of RTW. And that's for a game I don't even like in vanilla. I need a new HD.

I am looking forward to a couple of mods, CTW, but I am biased towards that because I am working on it. So of the other mods and the expansion I would have to say I am looking forward to Sengoku Jidai the most.
